Having been called “Pollyanna” many times in my life based on the 1960’s Hayley Mills film that talks to the “glad” game I have always tried to stay as positive as I can. Starting the morning being positive for what we do have as supposed to what we don't can help set the day up to go well. Research shows that by believing that positive things will happen and being optimistic people will attract the positive and see the best in situations.

Gratitude and the power it holds ...
Being grateful each day is one way of helping with my mental health – it helps me connect to nature, be thankful for what I have and that even the challenges in my life are luxuries that many in the world would be happy to take on such as the privilege of battling my children through breakfast and out to school, going to work, doing exercise. Lock down added to this appreciation of the little things we have often taken for granted like visiting families, seeing friends and just watching my children play sports. Gratitude is proven to help people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. (Harvard Health Publishing Nov 2011)
I was also recently recommended an app called 365 gratitude which is a great tool for helping to refocus and repurpose our mind in a daily (journal style) to get input as to ideas on mental wellbeing but also the opportunity to pick 3 positives within our day helping us to focus on what’s gone well
Full fill your own destiny
Taking a step on from gratitude we can start to adopt proactive believes around the fulfilling of our destiny - see it, believe it be it !! There are many studies that show that through powers of positive belief people have defied science in fighting illness, have created succeeded in business or simply passed where others told people they would fail.
I read the following quote once and find it a really helpful reminder ;
What you think you become
What you feel you attract
What imagine you create (Buddha)
The “Law of attraction” is a really interesting concept and many of those who work with its methods and beliefs feel the change in their outlook even after one or two days. It works by setting an ambition be it material, physical or emotional and using a mixture of visualisation, affirmations and actual plans to move in the direction of that ambition.
I found a simple guide on line which is clear and helpful if you are interested in giving it a go
Good luck and stay positive x
